Sure, your true eye color is much better than that of Edward. Your English accent is endearing, and you clean up real nice for photo shoots. But the hobo clothes and the unwashed mop? Not quite panty-droppers.
But, here's the real question--how do other guys pull off the hobo look while you (sorry to break it to you) fail?
I considered this question while chatting with helena_handbasket about something that's about to happen in a little BxE fic I'm writing. Bella and Edward are headed to a Foo Fighters show and she will find herself overwhelmed by the fuck-tastic hotness of being in the same room as Edward and Dave Grohl.
Dave Grohl...now that's a guy who can pull of the hobo look. Despite the flannel shirts and the fact that he doesn't shave sometimes for months it seems, he always manages to look clean and yum-diggety.
Maybe my blog followers can give you some pointers on sprucing yourself up a little? I know things with Kstew are hot and heavy now, but the honeymoon's gotta end at some point...
(hint to non-Rpattz readers, which means all of you: how is it that Dave Grohl pulls it off but Rob doesn't? Isn't it our duty as his fans to help him out?)

Lol. Abby (justaskalice to you) and I have discussed this very subject many times. What is up with that boy?
I have to say, RPattz, while pretty well-endowed with raw materials, is completely fail at putting it all together.
Item one: the hair. Edward Cullen is pretty much defined by the glorious mop. No hair=a whole lot less prettiness. When they do RPattz up with the EdwardHair, he freaking oozes hotness, but take that away and he plummets down the hotness scale. Case in point, look back on pics of him from last year and the utter fail of the buzz cut. He should put a pic of Edward Cullen on his mirror every day and strive to achieve that hair.
Item two: Clothes make the man. While the production values of the Twilight movies is pretty dismal (do NOT even get me started on the dreadful wigs- seriously, some of the worst I've seen and I've seen a lot) they managed to dress Edward pretty well and never underestimate the value of a good stylist who knows what they're doing. They let actors walk off with their film wardrobe all the time. He should take a hint and wear those clothes and ditch the ratty flannel shirts and baggy jeans. He just can't work that look.
Okay, I had way more to say on this subject than I thought, which is kind of embarrassing. I'll sit down now!
I don't think I can agree with you about RPattz failing the hobo look. I mean Oscars!Pattz rocked the tux and the soap, but I'm a sucker for his dirty hair, mysteriously shared flannel shirt and untied boot laces. Sure, when he looks like that I feel a compulsion to offer him a hot meal and the use of my washing machine, but that's all part of the charm, I think.
I guess it may be subjective because I happen to think RP is one hot hobo. :)

In theory I agree with you. Then I remember that his hair, even at its most unwashed and suspiciously anti-gravitational, makes me want to get naked from the waist down and climb on top of his head.
